Tuxbury Farm Camps

It is our desire at Tuxbury Farm to offer a unique experience in the area of horsemanship. Our goal is to build confidence, responsibility, and skill through horsemanship in a family-oriented atmosphere. The foundation of our program includes daily mounted lessons by a qualified instructor and un-mounted sessions covering a broad spectrum of topics including horse psychology, horse health issues, feeding, horse care, grooming, and tack that is age and ability appropriate for the campers. Your child will also enjoy traditional camp fun involving lots of “horsey” crafts and games.
It is important to us at Tuxbury Farm to continually maintain quality and safety in all of our programs; therefore, groups are limited in size and campers are matched as closely as possible in their horse experience. All camps run throughout the summer and during some holiday periods. Equestrian Camp: Mon thru Fri. 9am to 1 pm. $295.00/session. Equestrian Camps provide formal riding lessons, lots of hands on horse experience, and good ole’ fashion camp fun. This is a five day camp. The Equestrian Camp is designed for those with little or no experience, those with some experience (can successfully walk, trot, and canter) and for those children who are more advanced (have begun jumping and understand such exercises as diagonals, lead changes, and proper hand and leg positions).
“Let’s Get Acquainted” Camps: Tues thru Thurs. 9am to 1pm. $180/session. For the more timid or younger aspiring rider, we offer a program we call “Let’s Get Acquainted”. These sessions are specifically geared to safely introduce young children to the world of horses. This camp meets for three day sessions and is for children from ages 6 – 8 years old.

We look forward to being a part of your child’s camp plans. Reserved space is based on receipt of an application, a signed release form and your non-refundable deposit of $100. Balance must be paid on or before the first day of camp.
